never turn right when you get on a plane ..

This brings a whole new meaning to not turning right when you get on a plane. Simply a great idea. I am looking forward to air taxis.

From someone that spends upto 4 hours a day travelling to the office, this looks like it will be a breath of fresh air, and opens up new acceptable living distances from the office.
It certainly beats the congestion charge. And the new road tax designed to get you out of the car and onto public transport. And - get this - the new "peak" tax for rail travel to discourage people from travelling peak times on the train. The worlds gone mad.

All we need are mini C130 hercules, with enough room for your French car, (exempt from speeding fines, parking fines, congestion charge, and the new road tax), and then living in Europe and commuting to city airport for London is not a bad prospect.

Thanks to MrGovernor once more for this. I must say that it raised a smile.

AMD roadmap

Clearly I have been neglecting my blogging responsibilities. However, straight back into Geek talk with details from AMD:

AMD announce major socket transition from Socket A to Socket 754 pin

AMD has recently announced that Socket A processors (Sempron) will become end of life during this quarter and no further shipments will be made from AMD on these products after mid June. The replacement product will be the Socket 754 Sempron. Please ensure that you are working with this roadmap to transition your builds from Socket A to Socket 754 during this timescale and that you have taken sufficient stock of any Socket A product to smooth this transition. To assist the market in a quick transition AMD recently moved the price down on their 754 pin products in line with the Socket A.

So pip pip and hooray, for cheaper gear.

doh

I can only appologise for my distinct lack of blogging over the last few weeks. I can only put this down to replacing every wall and ceiling on the ground floor of my house, including a complete new kitchen, along with having the in-laws to stay for a month. Not the best recipe for working from home at night and weekends. So as you can imagine, I have been unable to blog.

As James Governor regularly says, there are 3 things to remember about blogs: linkation, linkation, linkation.
